shabby chic hand made book mark

Gosh I'm a bad sewing blogger lol I've been caught up with working on my needle felting entries for the craft fair I'm entering next week. But this is a little shabby chic book mark I worked on. I hand drew the little whistling hunch back character and sewn around it on my sewing machine. I've used scraps of maroon material, black ribbon and black felt.

I hope you like it.

A new year for sewing

Ok being the new year I do hope to get some sewing done! I sadly didn't get photos of it before sending it off to my new friend Cindy of ThimblePrims she's my new penpal however hopefully she might be kind enough to send me some photos so I can show it off. A simple tissue holder which I was quite pleased with. I also sent her some needle felted animals and a little cookie I felted seeing as I can't send actual food across the waters sadly.

I am vowing to actually stop using this blog as a storing folder! lol I must explain I am a member on a couple of avatar sites, Ruffles is actually one that I own and created. I'm a bit of an internet geek at heart.

But avatars are little characters you can dress up and personalize in the sites online forum, shops and what not. Its like a forum but with added features so its cool.

But projects I hope to show son
dolls
bears
cute crafts
book reviews (I'm addicted to buying books)
and things I've collected related to my sewing crafts lol I've actually just tidied up my sewing space so hopefully I will get back into it again.

enough rambling next post will bring photos!

Trilby hat first project

I finally have something to show you! I've been working on it in class for the past couple of weeks. This hat was a pattern from Sew Hip magazine, issue number 22 I believe and they called it the Lacy Trilby Hat. Still the same pattern I used however I made my own bias binding and didn't bother with putting the lace onto it. It is a bit floppier but I still think it came out rather well.

Not the most artistic shots but not to bad haha
