keep your treasures safe cotton pouch

wow I am a bad sewing blogger but nonetheless my creative juices are starting to sew, I'm actually almost finishing a skirt that I started a few weeks ago in sewing. I just have to finish the hem and put the elastic in the waist. But this is a little pouch I made using vintage cotton and lace for detail, quite a neat pattern really as it can be unisex.

Its a good feeling being able to make things, I suffer post traumatic stress disorder and along with it at different times depression, anxiety and so on so its nice to know I can still feel useful and make these pretty items. Blogging is fun, I really need to get into it more for my sewing blog!

  2. I've just linked from Wispo's A stitch in time blog that you commented on and WOYWW stands for what's on your workdesk Wednesday? and PiF stands for Pay It Forward. See Julia's blog The stamping Ground http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ to see what it was all about. Hope this has helped. Teresa

  4. Hey NInja....thanks for stopping in to have a look 'round my blog...and for following. I have been a bit slow with the bears and dolls this year due to having wrist surgery in October and then...just not being able to re-motivate myself it seemed. I'm finally feeling like doing "stuff" again... and the little guy was such fun.

I used to just sew my larger mohair bears by hand... only up to 9 inches though. ... but, finally had to break down and get a machine and try to learn to use it for the dolly bits. Hands and fingers are tooooo tiny for hand stitching and getting it right. Actually it is too fiddly to do with a machine too...it isn't really sewing, it is more like do two teensy stitches, turn the wheel, turn the fabric...do two more teensy stitches...turn the wheel...etc... but, every so often I sew some straight lines with some fabric pieces to attach for skirts and things like that. My machine is gathering dust right now....

have fun with the sewing.... have you made any felted bears? ...
